At my initial enquiry, Nicky and Madelaine went out of their way to be helpful and informative, made all the necessary bookings conveniently and made the whole process seem simple and seamless. You took time at the pre-procedure visit to explain everything in detail, which was reassuring. This and the excellent nursing support made the surgery an almost 'non-event' from the patient perspective. And the scar?...imperceptible!

I was very fortunate to fall into the care of Miss Rose. She worked in tandem with my surgeon, Mr Banerjee to enable me to have immediate DIEP breast reconstruction after he had performed the mastectomy I needed. When I first met her, she explained the entire procedure to me as if it was the first time she was doing it, not the hundredth. She was patient and thorough, drawing me diagrams as she spoke to make it all clear. She was calm and understanding which is just what you need when you feel like all the certainty in your life has just been taken away.

January 2020 I had a mastectomy with a DIEP reconstruction performed by Miss Rose. From the moment we first met, Miss Rose talked me through the procedure and what to expect. Always honest and delivering the facts but with a warmth and kindness to put me at ease.

I was totally supported

I would like to thank Mr Gateley, Nicky and the nurses at Parkside for making what could had been a terrible experience (a debridement) into a bearable situation. Mr Gateley explained each procedure in language I could understand and discussed the pros and cons of each option that could be used to aid the healing of my wound. After the faster first option failed, they all encouraged me during the four months (three times a week) needed for the expert dressing of the wound until I could dress it myself. Mr Gateley told me it would take time. The healing took seven months. I was totally supported during this time and I knew if I had any problem I could call and they would be there for me.
