Having had your consultation to assess the appropriateness of the procedure, small areas of fat can be removed under local anaesthetic by first injecting fluid, which contains pain relief, into the area and then removing the fat using specialized suction equipment. This procedure usually takes about 30 minutes and the access is normally through a little incision just under the chin which cannot be seen. The stitch is removed at one week.
You will need to wear a neck support for one week, day and night, and then just at night for 6 weeks.
